A MIDI Christmas RETROspecvitve!

Merry Christmas! Christmas Lights

Ho! Ho! Ho! It's Christmas time again and I have for you all a MIDI Christmas RETROspective!  It's a mix album of some of my older stuff that I do not belive I have posted here.  Basically it's all the good stuff that is not in the 2010 Album!  A lot of SC-8850 Remixes as many tracks were from long before I had the XV-5080 and Fantom XR!

As usual, Merry Christmas to all, and to all: Enjoy the music! 🙂

SN-U110-11 has Godzilla’s Roar!!!

I could not belive this when I was scrolling through the sounds on my newly-acquired SN-U110-11 Sound Effects card using my equally-recently-acquired CM-64!  I had to write a little remix around it.

Short and sweet, here you go.  ROFL!

Faux Chiptune Music?

Not sure what to call this but Fake Chiptune Music.  I’ve been working on creating some patches on my Fantom XR that I can only describe as fake analog/fm/chiptune sounds.  It’s been fun.  There are actually a lot of tracks I have saved that utilize these sounds, that with a little more work I may record later.

For now, here are two songs.  A recreation of the menu music from Wolfenstein 3D, and some background music from Warcraft 2.

Enjoy!

A few more random recordings

Here are a few more random songs I have recorded recently.  Enjoy!
  • My newly remixed covers from Doom.
These were fun!  They use mainly the Roland XV-5080 and some new guitar patches I’ve made which are combinations of waveforms from various SRX boards.  Also features the really cool Roland PMA-5 on drum tracks for all three songs.

  • My remix of my friend Andre Louis’ song The Improbability Factor.
Cool song!  Uses both Roland Fantom XR and XV-5080, various SRX sounds.  I don’t remember if there’s some SC-8850 in there.

    • Download The Improbability Factor

  • My remix of a song from the RPG Brandish 4.
The soundtracks from those Japanese RPG’s are always pretty serious business, in a good way!  This song uses the Fantom XR and XV-5080 SRX Sounds with the SC-8850 on drums and a couple other patches.

    • Download Brandish – Soldiers

  • A funny MIDI remix draft of Michael Jackson’s song Beat It. Ever wonder what the vocals would sound like as a synth with a formant filter effect?  I think the guitar solo came out nice as well.  This song uses the Fantom XR, XV-5080, SC-8850, and Yamaha MU128.  I named it after a patch from the MU128 that is used for the intro synth.

Andrew’s MIDI Christmas 2010!

Merry Christmas!
Christmas Lights

Ho! Ho! Ho! It’s Christmas time again and I’ve recorded a new mix of MIDI Music for the holidays!  After struggling for a while to fit this all onto one CD, I gave up!  It’s too long for one CD so take what you like and make your own!  All tracks were recorded using my Roland XV-5080, Fantom XR, and occasionally D-550 or SC-8850 synthesizers.  The album is pretty much all orchestral, big band, and jazz music.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all: Enjoy the music! 🙂
