{"id":1022,"date":"2009-10-20T07:52:29","date_gmt":"2009-10-20T11:52:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.synth-studio.com\/blog\/?p=1022"},"modified":"2009-10-20T08:17:32","modified_gmt":"2009-10-20T12:17:32","slug":"wurlitzer-4150-fun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.synth-studio.com\/blog\/audio-music\/wurlitzer-4150-fun\/","title":{"rendered":"Wurlitzer 4150 Fun!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sorry for the lack of updates, I&#8217;ve been preoccupied as of late.\u00a0 Moving along, I have a Wurlitzer Organ.\u00a0 Model 4150, circa 1958 I believe.\u00a0 It was passed down to my father by his uncle when I was little.\u00a0 Anyway, I decided on a whim to try to record some new samples of it, with the goal simply being to record some sounds I like.\u00a0 It was not my intention to do any sort of complete sampling of the organ.\u00a0 Maybe some day though&#8230; \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>So, I took my MacBook armed with an M-Audio MobilePre USB downstairs, hooked into the organ&#8217;s phono plug, installed the latest version of Audacity and started recording.\u00a0 In total I got roughly 12 minutes of sample data.\u00a0 So far, I&#8217;ve only gone through about 2 minutes worth and made 3 SoundFont patches for myself, one being the &#8216;background noise&#8217; you can almost hear while the tubes are warming up, which I amplified.<\/p>\n<p>I wrote a weird little track using ONLY the samples that I&#8217;ve created, and some reverb.\u00a0 Have a listen:<\/p>\n<p class=\"audioplayer_container\"><span style=\"display:block;padding:5px;border:1px solid #dddddd;background:#f8f8f8\" id=\"audioplayer_1\">Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip.
